He’s a powerful warrior sworn to fight evil in hopes of a chance at redemption. He’s after the demon princes who are stealing the seven vials of holy wrath which, when perverted, will unleash eternal hell on earth. To stop the plague, Luniel needs Morgan’s help, and her faith. But Morgan believes science is their salvation. If the zombie plague is a demonic curse—and if Luniel is true—he’ll have to prove it. Even if he loses his heart to true love or his soul to Hell…

Great start to Erica Hayes new series.
By Barb
Revelation is the first novel in Erica Hayes' Seven Signs series, which is a dark Urban Fantasy romance. This is a futuristic story of what happens when the dark side gets it's hands on the seven vials that have been hidden for centuries, which is supposed to bring down the holy wrath of God, and the End of Days. In Hayes story, there are seven dark demon princes, doing their deeds for Satan; seven tainted fallen angels, who become the warriors who fight against evil, and the seven vials that mean the destruction of the world. But in the Demon's minds, they don't want end of days, they want to turn earth into their own eternal hell playground. From the start, we find that Zombies are killing humans, and are beginning to multiply, and humans are also dying from the plague. The many demons are playing havoc, as the story starts in Babylon (old new york city), and bodies are building up in the morgue.
Dr. Morgan Sterling, is a scientist and assistant medical examiner trying desperately to find a cure for this plague. Of course, she has no idea, that the demons are responsible for this plague. Morgan is a hard nosed, tough doctor, who has built her life in trusting no one, and only cares about her work.
We meet the seven tainted angels, each having been delegated out of Heaven by some various different mistakes they made. They all report to the archangel Michael, who is portrayed in this book, as wild, arrogant and not a nice guy. He really does not care about his tainted angels, but he makes sure they do what needs to be done to protect the humans and fight the demons. Each of the tainted angels, want redemption and, to be able to go back to Heaven someday. Of the seven tainted angels, Dash is the leader, with the others following him. Erica Hayes does a wonderful job creating these characters, as I thoroughly enjoyed each of these angels (not Michael). In this book, we get to know them all, see how they work together, and care about each other.
But the hero in Revelation is Luniel (Lune), who starts off becoming suspicious and brings in the other angels as he senses the vials might be missing and in the wrong hands. Lune finds his brother at the morgue, and meets our heroine, Morgan.
From that point on, this adventure is filled with action, violence, betrayal, and it is non stop. Morgan, who is a disbeliever, finds herself fighting off her attraction to Lune, whom she wants to trust but cannot due to her childhood issues, and stubbornness that this is a plague that she can cure. Lune, having been celibate for 800 years, after losing his love to the demons and hell, finds himself becoming very attracted to Morgan. Though Morgan was stubborn in her disbelief, even seeing the wings, she at first had no choice but to help the angels try to stop the destruction; then she totally became a believer after seeing all the horrific things being done to humans. Morgan and Lune, as time goes on becomes a great romance, that developed over a short period, as each had to fight their own issues. This really was a great romance, especially with all the darkness surrounding this story.
I really liked some of these great characters, especially our great, but fun angel warriors, such as Jaz, Jaspeth, Iria,Trillion as well as Dash. They are all major characters that make this story fun. Throughout this dark fantasy, Hayes was able to bring in a lot of humor, wittiness to break up the tension. As I have said, this story was filled with tense action, violence, horrible demons, and yet managed a wonderful romance. Great start to a new series, as I cannot wait for the next book...Redemption.

Revelation
By The Jeep Diva
There were several things that really grabbed my attention when I saw this Revelation while cruising around the book store: paranormal romance, zombie plague, fallen angels, and possible demon curse. Seriously, I was immediately sold. I love apocalypse books, I love zombies, and I'm a total paranormal romance junkie. I've also recently discovered fallen angels ooze sexy and Luniel did not disappoint on that.
The setting is New York City meets Gotham City a few years into the future. Babylon is not anything likes its namesake. It is actually the crime capital of the country. The city is full of crime and violence. To top off those issues the bay had turned to blood and the sick and diseased are looking and behaving like zombies. Luniel may be one of the Tainted, a fallen angel but he knows the signs of an appending apocalypse. He believes that what he is seeing is the effects of a Vial Guardian losing his precious vials wrath. Luniel also knows that the vials can be abused and the wrath twisted if they land in the hands of demons.
A traumatic event from her teen years has left Morgan with little faith in any sort of a higher power. She is now a doctor and relies heavily on science and the solid proof that scientific facts give her. While on the last leg of her shift at the medical examiner office she has a hard time believing what she is seeing in the body bag. Logic and a long time distrust tells her it is something completely different than what it actually is. Morgan's inability to trust was one of my annoyances with this book. It is her character flaw and she has a right to it, but she held onto the distrust of all for too long.
The entire crew of Tainted was interesting and I want to know more about them. I also want to know more about the archangel Michael. For someone who holds the souls of the Tainted he has his very own dark taint and I'm very curious about the whys of that. Jadzia's new friend also has me eager to read more books in this series. I love dark books and Revelation was extremely dark, the world, the characters, even the fallen angels had their own darkness.
The spine clearly lists Revelation as a paranormal romance. The setting and the way the story is driven makes it feel more of an urban fantasy. There is definitely romance between Luniel and Morgan. Readers are given plenty of sexual tension and some hot sex scenes that are present with any romance. The author's website describes the book as an urban fantasy romance and I find that to be a very accurate genre description for the book.

Revelation by Erica Hayes
Paranormal Romance - Oct. 2nd, 2012
4 stars
Revelation is a new paranormal series about damned angels who fight to save the world against the apocalypse. .
Lune is a sexy fallen angel who suspects that the apocalypse may have begun. He finds warning signs such as human blood in the water and a new zombie plague has taken over the city. Plus his good friend and another fallen angel has gone missing. And the missing angel may be one of the Guardians protecting a vial that could bring unspoken horrors. When he finds that his friend was murdered and the vial goes missing he knows he will do all he can to prevent Armageddon. But when he visits the morgue he finds a spectacular medical doctor named Morgan Sterling. She has been trying to find the cure for the zombie plague and does she frustrates him to no end. And for an angel who has denied his sexual nature the result is explosive!
This new fantasy series will delight fans who enjoy deep and multifaceted characters. Lune is pure alpha male whose lives for duty. But Morgan brings out the tender side of him that was poignant to read. When Morgan becomes infected it starts a new chain of events that made this book all the more fascinating. Morgan is also a crusader she wants to make the world a better place but does not hide it like Lune. I loved her courage and willingness to believe the good in others- even if it causes her problems! I also enjoyed reading about the other Tainted angels especially Dash, the leader who has a huge chip on his shoulder and the handsome Japheth who seems to come into his own and has a mysterious past with the mythical angel Michael. These angels are really different because they are not the `angelic' personalities that readers would expect especially the `good' angel Michael who is extremely brutal and devious.
Hard core, dark, and complex Urban Fantasy readers will be enthralled with this new series.
