A Friesian Romance with the Man of Her Dreams

Book Description: IT JUST HAD TO BE... A DREAM WEDDING. Harriet had met the man of her dreams, the one she'd always imagined herself marrying. But Dr. Friso Eijsinck was very attractive, and he seemed to be surrounded by pretty girls. Harriet began to feel that, as far as Friso was concerned, she was only one of many. What she didn't know was that Friso had met his dream wife, and he was going to make sure that he married her.
Harriet took a 3-week holiday to accompany Sieske, friend and fellow nurse, returning to her Friesian home in Franeker. Harriet looked forward to meeting her family, fiancée, and a close family friend who was also her father's medical partner. While there she literally sees then meets the man of her dreams. Misconceptions and meddling may interfere with her dreams coming true.
In true Neels style, the reader is taken on a tour of Friesland and its culture while telling the story of Friso and Harriet.
Frisco and Harriet appear in "A Matter of Chance"; Frisco & Giles van der Teile are friends.

Sweet romance set in England and Holland

Harriet's holiday in Holland was at the instigation of her nursing colleague and friend Sieske. While staying with Sieske's family she met Dr Friso Eijsinck who was in partnership with Sieske's father. There was an instant attraction. Of the fated kind where their eyes meet and somehow they know. HOwever it takes a little while for them to get things together and Friso is an acknowledged flirt with several girls on a string.
Just when it all seems to be coming together, trouble is made by Sieske's little sister who has a crush on the doctor. A variation on the evil other woman but easily resolved. A sweet story.

One of my favorite stories by Betty Neels where Harriet and Friso fall in love at first sight.

This book was different in that Harriet is petite and beautiful and Friso tells her so frequently. They both fall in love the moment their eyes meet when she visits Holland and it's a lovely story until someone tells them lies about each other which destroys the relationship. Harriet returns home to England to be a ward sister but she is heartbroken. Friso arrives at her home after he finds out the truth and tells her he wants only to marry her. Lovely story.
