Heart wrenching, wonderful reading

What a great book! Shiloh was so real. I identified with her struggles so well. We all have things in our pasts that haunt us. I loved how she faced hers and helped others in the process. I loved reading this story.

Forgiving Your Sins = God's Grace

Lead Me Home was a beautiful story about forgiving yourself. We all carry around sins of the past, and while we may have been forgiven by God, forgiving ourselves seems to be much harder sometimes. Shiloh is the picture perfect preacher's wife and it seems like she has the world by the tail. What people do not see is the guilt she carries from her past. Shiloh takes on a new job of teaching music in a high school for a short time. She falls in love with the students and teaching. One of her students, discovers that she is in trouble. She turns to Shiloh for some help and Shiloh realizes that she must reveal her past to help this girl make the right decisions for herself.
I thought this book was a fantastic look at the psychological warfare that goes on in our minds. While we ask for forgiveness from our Father, we still carry that guilt and have to find ways to forgive ourselves. The other part of this story was about judging people based on their outside looks and actions. Too often we do not have the whole story. This again was a good lesson. People do things for the right reasons, but to others they may not appear to be sincere. God knows our hearts, and while we may not be perfect with the execution of His plan, He does honor our efforts. Learning to listen to God and helping someone else become more like Christ is what we are suppose to do. Shiloh learned this lesson with Jade. I loved how Adams brings about awareness of the price of hearing aids and how little is covered by insurance.
This was a great read that reveals things to you so you can be a better person. My thanks to Netgalley for providing me with a free ebook to read and review.

Shiloh Griffin is a wife, mother and first lady. She married her husband young, so any life she may have dreamed for herself became non-existent as her main purpose became being a helpmate to her husband and pastor and mother to their four sons.
While leading the women's bible study, Shiloh feels threatened by Jade Smith, the assistant pastor's wife. Shiloh knows the word of God, but when dealing with Jade, it's sometimes difficult to remember to be Christlike. Will these two ladies learn to co-exist?
A teaching opportunity lands in Shiloh's lap. She would love to be able to do something separate from her husband and children. Despite loving her husband, children and ministry, she finally feels as though her life has meaning. Immediately Shiloh finds herself bonding with the students.
Monica, a 16-year-old, has a real talent as a flutist. She finds it easy to confide in Shiloh. In doing so, Shiloh realizes that this was by God's design. Before, Shiloh can assist Monica, she has to open up her long ago buried secrets to her family. Will her past be a wrecking ball in their lives?
This is the second book in the Winds of Change series. So far we've gotten very acquainted with two of three of the Wilson sister's. As always, Hawkins books are comforting, with real life characters and circumstances. I was so drawn into the story, and how she is able to tackle multiple story lines.
Definitely worthy of a recommendation, Just be certain you read COMING HOME first.
